Descendants of William Herndon - GENERATIONS 1-4

DESCENDANTS OF WILLIAM HERNDON

The WILKINS generation will begin with MARY FRANCIS HERNDON noted in generation number 5.

Generation No. 1:  William Herndon was born in 1649 and died in 1722 at the age of 73.
                             he married Katherine Digges.  They had three sons.

Generation No. 2:  James Herndon Jr was born in 1683 in New Kent Co, Va,  
                             died in 1744 at the age of 61.  He married Mary Elliott George
                             The had 4 sons.

Generation No. 3:  William Herndon was born in 1706 and died in 1773 at the  age
                             of 67.  He married Sarah Poe.  They had 5 boys and 3 girl.

Generation No. 4:  James Herndon  was born in 1738 and died in 1815 at the age of
                             77.  He married Isabella Thompson.  They had 2 boys and 2 girls.
                             One of the girls name was MARY FRANCIS HERNDON.(5)

 Note for James Herndon:  During the American Revolution James Herndon commanded a company of Chatham County Militia which marched to Camden and Charleston, S.C.  The regimental commander was Colonel Lytle whoe regiment was part of General Lincoln.
